Shelter Box for Repeating Sparrow Trap

A shelter box or sometimes called a hide box is an essential part of the sparrow trapping equipment.  It allows you to keep one or two sparrows in the trap as call-birds to attract other birds to the trap.   Without a shelter box for the call-birds to hide both from humans and other predators, they won't last long.  They usually die within a few days due to exhaustion from continuously trying to escape.  But when a shelter box is made available, the birds will quickly learn to hop in to hide any time there's a disturbance.
