We have modernized the dho gazza trap. No more fumbling around with spool of string and gadgets to set up this tried and true trapping method. Our custom engineered dho gazza clips allow a quick set & reset of the net.

This is the ultimate dho gazza set up. It's 5ft high x 8ft long with ultra-thin 2" x 2" square netting (the total width & height, pole to pole is around 6ft high x 10ft wide). The netting hangs vertically - meaning when fully erected, each mesh looks square not diagonal, which makes it even less noticeable to the approaching hawk/falcon. It's great for road trapping or permanent sites.

This is a very portable trap and does not need to be staked down because the stands will hold the poles upright so it will work on hard surface as well as grassy area. As you can see, the ultra-thin net makes it virtually invisible from just a feet from it away.

This dho-gazza comes completely assembled and ready for use. It comes with two 2ft cross strands and one guy string on each stand so staking down the stands is not needed.

It is also fully attached to the poles so you can reset the trap within a minute once the hawk is free from the trap.

Is This Large Dho-Gazza Right For You?

This is the same style of dho-gazza I use on my permanent trapping station, but slightly shorter. However, this dho-gazza is very portable. It breaks down and folds to only approximately 28" long making it easy to transport and easy to set up.

*In technical terms, a dho-gazza is a one shelf/pocket mist net. A mist net usually has more than one shelf or pocket to retain the trapped birds. Mist nets for capturing larger birds similar size to hawks utilized this same netting, but have multiple panels to form multiple shelves. As far as effectiveness in capturing hawks, I have been trapping for many years and I firmly believe that dho-gazzas are better for catching hawks than mist nets. Mist nets are more suited for trapping small dicky birds. With the extra material required to form the shelves of a mist net, it makes it more detectable to the hawks so they are more likely able to avoid the nets.
